Time for the Canthan New Year celebrations

Every year, the citizens of Cantha celebrate the New Year in style at Shing Jea monastery. This year is the Year of the Celestial Rat, so not only can you expect an appearance at the end of the festivities, but there will also be limited edition Celestial Rat minipets available.

If you haven’t yet bought a copy of Guild Wars: Factions, now is the time to splash out. Grab it from the online store or follow the links on the right hand side to get super fast delivery from Amazon.

The festival kicks off at 8pm this Friday, 8th February and finish at 8pm on Monday 11th February. Decorations should be going up throughout Cantha today in a game update. All through Sunday the Celestial Rat will be making special appearances. Complete the special quests to collect ingredients to give to the Chef’s in Shing Jea, who will create special New Year dishes for the Celestial Rat to sample.

If all is well, the Celestial Rat will hand out special festival masks and minipets to everyone.

This year also brings a new Title Track - the Party Animal. Set off fireworks, sparklers, and use other festive consumables to advance.

The usual games will be available at the Shing Jea Boardwalk, along with the welcome return of Rollerbeetle Racing (I love that game!). This is your big chance to boost your Lucky, Unlucky and Gamer Title Tracks.

Remember, the Lucky Title Track has a direct influence on how successful your lockpicking skills are when opening chests in explorable areas, so this is a good time to boost your skills and reap the rewards for the year to come.
