Guild Wars - 5 million copies sold

Guild Wars seems to be going from strength to strength. On the back of the excellent Eye of the North expansion, and the recent Bonus Mission Pack, ArenaNet have announced that over 5 million copies of Guild Wars games have now been sold.

That’s pretty good, especially given that when launched in April 2005, many said that the free to play model could never work outside of South Korea.

ArenaNet have also taken the chance to re-affirm their commitment to Guild Wars beyond the release of Guild Wars 2, which should be entering beta this year.
