Some changes coming for the Hall of Monuments
As recently announced by the ArenaNet devs, the Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars Eye of the North is going to undergo some changes shortly.
One of the main issues players have been complaining about (me too!) is that the Hall of Monuments is character specific, which actively discourages developing more characters. One of the changes is to resolve this, allowing you to switch the Hall of Monuments between character and account when you’re inside it.
The Monument to Valor is also being updated, allowing you to add Tormented Weapons to the display, as well as Destroyer weapons. Let’s hope they open it up even more - the addition of the new Deldrimor unique weapons would be a nice touch.
The devs have also shed some light on how the Hall of Monuments will interact with Guild Wars 2. Your accomplishments in the Hall of Monuments will be sent to Guild Wars 2 on a per-account basis, which is great news for players who have a number of different highly developed characters.
This link between the Hall of Monuments and Guild Wars 2 won’t be a one-time thing - you can keep playing Guild Wars, adding new achievements to the Hall of Monuments, which in turn will add new unlocks and achievements in Guild Wars 2.
Great news, and I can’t wait for the update to be pushed out. In the meantime - when’s the beta for Guild Wars 2?
