A new evil: Dhuum awakens!
The latest game update has brought a fun new challenge to Guild Wars this weekend. A new boss has been added to the Underworld, designed to test players to the limit.
Something stirs in the Underworld. Something ancient, powerful, and utterly evil: Dhuum. Banished eons ago by Grenth, this dark avatar of death has bided his time and grown in power. Now, Dhuum is free! We’ve added this terrifying new end boss to the Underworld—face him if you dare.
According to Guild Wars lore, Dhuum was the god of death before Grenth, and he’s been mentioned in this context in quests like “The Four Horsemen” and “Gate of Torment”.
Hints about Dhuum have been dropped in previous quests – “Don’t Fear the Reapers” reveals that Dhuum is sealed in the Hall of Judgement in the Ice Wastes of the Underworld.
Dhuum appears to have attracted Titans as his minions (those that remained after the defeat of Abaddon at the end of Nightfall), along with Riders of Dhuum and Emissaries of Dhuum.
This looks like a fun update to Guild Wars, and given how tricky questing in the Underworld can be, this could prove a real test for even the most experienced characters.
