Dungeons in Eye of the North: Heart of the Shiverpeaks
Many players will already have ventured into the Heart of the Shiverpeaks in Guild Wars: Eye of the North. A Primary Quest requires you to slay Cyndr the Mountain Heart and recover the Hammer of the Great Dwarf. Like most dungeons in Eye of the North, Heart of the Shiverpeaks is repeatable, and you will notice some changes when you explore it a second time.

Much of the dungeon remains the same the second time round. The layout and dungeon maps are the same, with the one major difference being Cyndr the Mountain Heart is no longer present – instead, you must defeat Magmus instead.
Magmus poses a slightly different (but equally hard) challenge – he is a powerful Ooze-like boss. At the start of the battle, he will spawn multiple Oozes, and when defeated, more will spawn. All the Oozes in the central chamber must be killed before the chest with the mission rewards will spawn.
Magmus is heavily resistant to fire damage, and immune to burning and poison. Necromancers with life stealing skills are helpful here, as is the skill Breath of the Great Dwarf to combat burning.
Once Magmus is defeated, a Mountain Heart Chest spawns, granting one of the following items to each player:
- Warrior Cyndr’s Edge
- Elementalist Cyndr’s Heart
- Elementalist Magmus’ Staff
- Paragon Cyndr’s Aegis
- Embercrest Staff
- Singing Blade
- Diamond
- Onyx Gemstone
- A Naga Shaman Polymock Piece
You will also gain 1500 Dwarven reputation points, rising to 2250 in Hard Mode.
Minion Masters are very helpful to have – there are a significant number of monsters who leave behind corpses, and it is possible to quickly build up a significant number of Minions to help with the fighting. With over 300 creatures to kill, Heart of the Shiverpeaks is an excellent spot in Eye of the North to farm Dwarven Reputation Points.
