Ogden is one of the first new heroes you meet in Eye of the North. When taking the first quest to travel to Boreal Station in Eye of the North, you meet Ogden Stonehealer and his dwarves piling up explosives, in an effort to blow their way out of the catacombs, and escape from a new menace that is pursuing them – the Destroyers.

This initial quest is obtained from Len Caldoron in Lion’s Arch (for Prophecies players), the Minister for Maintenance Raiugyon in Kaineng Centre (for Factions players) or from Bedah in Kamadan (for Nightfall players). The mission name and description vary, but all have the same goals and rewards: discover why a mysterious crack or fissure has appeared near the city.

You end up befriending Ogden Stonehealer and his friends, and fleeing the Destroyers through an Asura Gate, and so making your way to Boreal Station, and unlocking access to Eye of the North.

The Eye of the North manual has this to say about Ogden Stonehealer:

Ogden’s talent as a healer surfaced early in life, marking him as a chosen of the Great Dwarf from a very young age. As a child, he had the uncommon ability to cheer his fellow Dwarves with simple things: a helping hand to those in need, a kind word to ease suffering. He was a boon to his family and a blessing to his friends. Yet as he grew older, the very gift that set him apart became a burden to the young Dwarf. Empathy can be terrible, and it is a cruel thing on the battlefield. Ogden has retreated into himself, hiding within a shell of determination as strong as mountain rock.
Ogden is loyal to his Deldrimor king and is a true believer in the Great Dwarf. He knows the ancient prophecies of the Great Destroyer, having studied them from childhood, and there are few Dwarves alive who understand their implications quite as well. He realizes the enemy has come at last—fighting in the depths of the earth, boiling up in great numbers, freed by the recent earthquakes. His goal is to fight them, and he will—with any resources available …until the last Dwarf falls on the battlefield.

Ogden Stonehealer starts with Dwarven Monk armour, with an armour rating of 60. His armour can be upgraded to Deldrimor Armor using a Deldrimor Armor Remnant, and to Brotherhood Armor using Cloth of the Brotherhood. Once his armor has been upgraded he can be added to your Monument of Fellowship in the Hall of Monuments.

Ogden’s default Monk skills are:

  • Healing Breeze
  • Healing Touch
  • Holy Veil
  • Orison of Healing
  • Resurrect
  • Signet of Devotion

Having a hero monk in your party can be hugely useful, especially as you can deploy them with the very powerful LoD hybrid build for maximum healing efficiency. Whether Ogden Stonehealer is in your party or not, one of the oddities of Eye of the North is the Ogden – along with other ‘main’ heroes like Vekk and Gwen – will appear in nearly all of the Eye of the North cutscenes.
