Eye of the North level requirements reduced
Good news for people wanting to push low level characters into Guild Wars: Eye of the North. The game update from yesterday has halved the level your character needs to be to reach Boreal Station - from 20 down to 10 - not only allowing lower level characters access to Eye of the North, but also giving them some buffs to help them progress.
If your character is between levels 10 and 19, when you go to any Eye of the North map, you will automatically receive the buff Journey to the North.
The Journey to the North buff grants you:
- base health of 480
- current armour level becomes max armour level, regardless of the type of armour actually equipped
- attribute used by your wielded weapon is boosted to 12
- primary attribute boosted to 9
- attribute used by your wielded focus item or shield (if applicable) boosted to 9
- attributes of skills in your skill bar boosted to 9, until you have 3 attributes at 9 in total
Once your character has reached level 20 and zones to a new Eye of the North map, the Journey to the North buff will go away.
New players in Eye of the North can also get a max damage weapon. Talk to Burol Ironfist in Boreal Station, and complete the Hero Tutorial quest. Burol will then give you a Borol Ironfist’s Commendation. Hand this in to Arkor Leadfoot in Boreal Station, and Arkor will exchange it for a max damage weapon of your choice.
A new armorer has also been introduced in Boreal Station. Jolvor Stoneforge can supply cheap, basic max level armor for your character.
Having tried these out with a new Monk build, all of these boosts are very effective when creating a new character and wanting to bring them up to speed in Eye of the North.
