First monthly tournament comes to an end
The first Guild Wars monthly automated tournament has come to an end, with new guilds in the top lists. Ice Chunk is the February Hero Battle tournament champion, while Clan Union captured the Guild versus Guild (GvG) win.
As always ArenaNet have some detailed stats on their site – you can view the final tournament standings, the updated automated tournament rules, and – most useful of all – you can check out what skills the participants used to gain their victories.
The Automated Tournament Series (ATS) is so called because they tournaments themselves are automated – you just need to talk to the Tournament NPC in your Guild Hall, the Hero Battles arena, or the Great Temple of Balthazar.
Once registered you can take part in the GvG and 1v1 battles, choosing to play in either the daily or monthly tournaments.
At the moment the prizes are Amazon gift cards, but as April is the third anniversary of Guild Wars, there are some changes coming. April will feature a special series of anniversary tournaments with some unique prizes. From then on, all tournament prizes will be exclusive in-game items, including some new unique items which can only be gained through tournament victories.
Fun times ahead for Guild Wars PvP players.
