Ooze Pit

A new monster in Eye of the North is the Ooze. As well as bouncing around in an annoying manner (your henchmen have a bad tendency to chase after them), Oozes also have the irritating habit of spawning ever more, smaller Oozes when killed. This makes the Ooze Pit dungeon in Eye of the North a particularly tricky dungeon.

The Ooze Pit is located in Grothmar Wardowns. Talk to the Charr, Seer Fiercereign, outside Doomlore Shring to get the Watch It Jiggle quest. Only with this quest active will you be able to unlock the first door and explore the entire dungeon.

Although only one level, the Ooze Pit can be very tricky, due to the mobs of Ooze, which spawn even more Ooze when killed. Careful pulling and party management is key to not getting wiped out.

The are a number of Light of Deldrimor extras than can be picked up:

  • Dwarven Ghost behind the area map
  • Dwarven Ghost (sometimes a Hidden Treasure) northwest of the Boss Key icon on the map
  • Dwarven Ghost next to the Boss Lock
  • Sometimes a Hidden Treasure can appear behind the Prismatic Ooze

The monsters are all exclusively jellies and Oozes. This means no corpses, which in turn means Minion Master builds, as well as Necromancer builds that rely heavily on corpse exploitation, are utterly useless.

Once the Prismatic Ooze has been defeated, a Prismatic Chest will spawn, giving each player 1 of the following items:

  • Elementalist Prismatic Rod (unique green item)
  • Elementalist Prismatic Focus (unique green item)
  • Elementalist Prismatic Staff (unique green item)
  • Cerulean Edge (gold item)
  • Chrysocola Staff (gold item)
  • Diamond (rare crafting material)
  • Onyx Gemstone (rare crafting material)
  • A Stone Rain Polymock Piece

Players will also gain 1000 Dwarven Reputation Points (1500 in Hard Mode). During the course of completing the dungeon you should also be able to rack up between 1000 and 1300 Dwarven Reputation Points.

Interrupts and Wards are very effective against the Oozes. Deep Freeze and other slowing spells are also hugely useful for freezing mobs and then nuking from a distance. A LoD hybrid Monk is also useful for party wide healing.

With focussed builds the Ooze Pit dungeon should be manageable, even with henchmen. The speed and spawning abilities make Oozes one of the more annoying enemies faced in Eye of the North, but the single level and good amount of Dwarven Reputation Points to be gained make the Ooze Pit a worthwhile dungeon to explore.
