If you’re lucky enough to be able to attend the Leipzig at the end of August, you can meet up with Guild Wars NCSoft as they hold a special Community Day at their booth.

Along with lots of freebies, NCSoft will be holding a costume competition, with some great prizes - including some top hardware from Razer.

As we have already announced via the boards, Sunday will be our Community Day at the NCsoft booth (Hall 3, Stand B20), a whole day fully dedicated to you, our players!

One of the many activities will be a costume competition (Sunday, 24.08, 10:00 GMT). All you need to do is come dressed as a character from either Guild Wars, Aion, City of Heroes, Lineage 2, Tabula Rasa, or Dungeon Runners, then get up on the catwalk to strut your stuff!

However, this isn’t just for fun - the very best entrants will be inline to win some fantastic prizes, including some serious hardware like the Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card from gaming specialists Razer, and fantastic memorabilia courtesy of NCsoft. We also might have a special surprise in store, so make sure you come along!

One thing to keep in mind when designing your costume: Don’t bring any real weaponry, nor replicas made from steel – basically anything that can injure somebody! If you do you will not be allowed entry into the convention centre. LARP replicas are fine, however.
So, time to get out your sewing kit, pins and needles, and maybe even your welding torch, and get creative! We look forward to seeing your outfits!

Here’s hoping we’re going to be seeing some sneak peeks of Guild Wars 2 as well!

Just a reminder that it’s the GuildWarsGuru.com GvG challenge this weekend. With almost $12,000 worth of prizes on offer, this promises to be the largest and most exciting tournament run by Guild Wars fans so far.

The banners and decorations have gone up in Shing Jea Monastery, and across Cantha, as the game update yesterday brings the new content for the Dragon Festival.

Here’s the full details from ArenaNet on the new content in the latest Guild Wars update:

Decorated Shing Jea Monastery and Kaineng Center in preparation for the Dragon Festival.

Beginning at 7:00 PM (GMT) on Thursday, July 3, 2008, the Shing Jea Boardwalk, Dragon Arena, and Rollerbeetle Racing will be opened for the duration of the weekend.

Captain Rujiyo will be gathering adventurers in Shing Jea Monastery for special festival missions at various times throughout the day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

For the final events on Sunday July 6, Emperor Kisu will visit Shing Jea Monastery every two hours, with the first event starting at 9:00 AM (GMT) and the last event starting at 5:00 AM (GMT) on Monday, July 7.

Imperial Supply Master Kagno will appear in Shing Jea Monastery as the event comes to a close at 06:59 AM (GMT) on Monday, July 7. He will remain there for one week to exchange 250 Victory Tokens for the new mask in case anyone misses the exchange with Emperor Kisu.
