Ranger Elite Skills in Eye of the North
Rangers are well served with Elite Skills in Eye of the North, with a number of skills from each of the attribute groups. Many of these skills can also be capped during storyline quests and missions, which helps enormously when trying to pad out your skill set.
Beast Mastery
Enraged Lunge
Your animal companion attempts an Enraged Lunge that deals +3…19 damage (maximum bonus 80) for each recharging Beast Mastery skill.
Enraged Lunge can be obtained from:
- Ashlyn Spiderfriend (Magus Stones)
Expertise
Glass Arrows
For 10…30 seconds, your arrows strike for +5…17 damage if they hit and cause Bleeding for 10…18 seconds if they are Blocked.
Glass Arrows can be obtained from:
- Petraj the Evasive (Verdant Cascades)
Marksmanship
Crippling Shot
If Crippling Shot hits, your target becomes Crippled for 1…7 seconds. This attack cannot be blocked.
Crippling Shot can be obtained from:
- Koren Wildrunner (Drakkar Lake)
- Gallow Nooseknitter (Riven Earth)
- Brood Weaver (Arachni’s Haunt)
- Chieftain Windswept (During the Quest - Service: In Defense of the Eye)
Prepared Shot
If this attack hits, you strike for +10…22 damage. If you are under the effects of a Preparation, you gain 1…7 Energy.
Prepared Shot can be obtained from:
- Johon the Oxflinger (Ice Cliff Chasms)
Barrage
All your Preparations are removed. Shoot arrows at target foe and up to 6 foes adjacent to your target. These arrows strike for +5…17 damage if they hit.
Barrage can be obtained from:
- Groknar Weazlewortz (Grothmar Wardowns, during Against the Charr)
- Storm of Destruction (Riven Earth)
- Docu Kindleshot (Bjora Marches, during Blood Washes Blood)
Wilderness Survival
Melandru’s Arrows
For 18 seconds, whenever your arrows hit, they cause bleeding for 3…21 seconds, and if they hit a target who is under an Enchantment, they do +8…24 damage .
Melandru’s Arrows can be obtained from:
- Taskmaster Larn (Battledepths (only during Attack on Jalis’s Camp))
Melandru’s Resilience
For 8…18 seconds, you gain +4 Health regeneration and +1 Energy regeneration for each Condition and Hex you are suffering.
Melandru’s Resilience can be obtained from:
- Facet of Creation (Alcazia Tangle, during The Cipher of Melandru) (Varajar Fells, during The Path to Revelations)
Poison Arrow
If Poison Arrow hits, your target becomes poisoned for 5…17 seconds.
Poison Arrow can be obtained from:
- Zalnax (Vloxen Excavations)
Scavenger’s Focus
For 24 seconds, your attacks deal +5…13 damage against foes suffering from a Condition.
Scavenger’s Focus can be obtained from:
- Beastmaster Korg (Rragar’s Menagerie)
Barrage in particular is a hugely useful skill, and features prominently in many Ranger builds. All of these Elite Skills have their place in a Ranger’s skill bar, and can be used to bolster the position of the Ranger in Guild Warsas a handy mid-line interrupter.
